Jesters - Feb 6th 23.15pm @ Thunderdome

After two close run games against the Streatham Nightwolves that left Jesters pointless we face a must win meeting with the Bracknell B52s on Saturday 6th Feb, at MK, face-off 23.15.

We've only met the B52s once before, back in 2001, so they're very much an unknown quantity - but Jesters will need to take points away from this meeting if we're going to progress to the semi-finals of the TVR cup competition. We meet the B52d again on the their ice on the 26th Feb, before finishing the league portion of the cup competition with games against the Basingstoke Hyenas in March.

As usual all welcome as spectators, and if anyone would like to help out on the clock/scorekeepers bench or penalty gates we'd appreciate your involvement.

Big win 14-3 after the teams first 20mins of bickering seatled down and actually played as a team we showed what were able to play like

A change of recent form for the Jesters as they found their game in the early hours of Sunday morning.

A 14-3 win with a squad that, once it settled, played Cup hockey. Bracknell travelling with only 2 lines, found the going tough against the full Jesters 3 lines.

A big thanks to Bubbles and co up in the DJ booth, who kept us well entertained as the long night wore on. Also a big thanks to Owen_Money who ran the clock - with only two of us to handle the clock, scoresheet and penalty gates there were some inevitable slips in normal service but I'd seriously like to thank Owen for helping keep it all together (oh, and I've had words with the guys who were moaning about the clock - those words being "You'll be handling the clock next game then, to show us how its done"?)

Thanks to those who came down to watch - we estimated the crowd to be comfortably in the single figures :-) - seriously we always appreciate having people make the effort to support us in these late night games.



Finally a huge apology to the Bracknell B52s players - I forgot to tell you that the changing room they were using had no hot water. (I knew something was wrong by the chilly reception I got when I walked in with the scoresheet ). My mistake on that one guys, I usually remember to tell the teams that they need to use the showers in one of the other changing rooms but on Saturday it slipped my mind - you'd think after a year of hot water problems I'd get it right . To make it up we'll have you back for a game in spring/summer and show you some proper Jesters' hospitality.

Next game -the return game at Bracknell on the 26th Feb, then at home against the Basingstoke Hyenas on the 5th March.
